If you are feeling lonely, isolated or need help building new social connections, you can access support through the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS).
What is the ACVVS?
The ACVVS is a free program that can help you connect to a volunteer support network in your community.
The program provides companionship and friendship between older Australians and volunteers.
Regular visits from a community visitor can help to improve your quality of life and help you feel less socially isolated.
Who is eligible to take part?
Regular visits are available to anyone receiving government-funded residential aged care or a Home Care Package. This includes people who are approved and waiting for an aged care home or on the National Priority System for a Home Care Package.
More information
To learn more about the ACVVS visit the Department of Health website.
