Are your personal and financial details up to date with Services Australia or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)?
Services Australia reviews aged care fees about once a month to check you are paying the right amount for your current circumstances. If your fees change, Services Australia will send you a letter to let you know. Your aged care fees can change when your personal or financial circumstances change.
Keeping your information up to date means you are paying the right amount. It also helps prevent you from being charged more than you should.
What changes do I need to report?
The changes you need to report include:
- a change in marital status
- a protected person, such as a partner or dependent child, moving out of your home (if you are in an aged care home)
- a change in your income
- a change in your assets – this includes the payment of a refundable accommodation deposit (RAD) or refundable accommodation contribution (RAC) for accommodation in an aged care home.
If your or your partner's circumstances have changed, you should tell the agency that did your means assessment – Services Australia or DVA.
How do I update my details?
To update your details, visit the Services Australia website or call DVA on 1800 838 372.
