Nursing care

This service provides qualified nursing care to help manage and monitor medical conditions at home. You may need someone to help you take medication or care for wounds. You may need someone to provide a general health assessment and recommend a specialist for you. Nursing services provide clinical care to help maintain or regain your health at home.

This service includes:

  • Registered Nurse – providing specialised clinical care
  • Enrolled Nurse – providing clinical care
  • nursing assistant – providing clinical care under a nurse’s supervision
  • nursing care consumables – covering the cost of specialised products used to deliver clinical care that would not normally be carried by a nurse.

This service does not include:

  • services that are better funded through other health programs, such as specialist palliative care
  • medication and scripts.
